Dickens of a Christmas (December 2nd)
An old-fashioned Christmas has been a tradition for downtown Wellsboro for almost 40 years. On Saturday, December 2nd, 2023 the Dickens of a Christmas returns to the streets. The streets of downtown Wellsboro becomes an early Victorian marketplace. The streets are closed to traffic and filled with food and drink, vendors, crafts, and local specialty shops. There are multiple traveling musicians and choirs along the streets through out the day. Performances are also held at local churches and performing arts center. The fun begins a 9:00 a.m. and don't forget to look for Santa there.
8th Annual Wellsboro Christmas on Main Street!

Stroll along our gas lit Main Street, shop local, and enjoy our picturesque town! Visit 34 displays of historic ornaments made locally in the early 1940’s and learn how Wellsboro saved Christmas during World War II. It’s a weekend of activities to warm your heart and fill you with Christmas spirit!
​This year, passports and history brochures can be purchased for $5 from Friday, December 8 to Sunday, December 10 at one of the following locations:
​Penn Wells Hotel, Wild Asaph Outfitters, The Farmer’s Daughter, and Pop’s Culture Shoppe.
