A Grab n' Go Bed & Breakfast

Welcome to Romantique Bed & Breakfast! We are so excited you chose to stay with us and want to ensure that your stay is as comfortable, welcoming and fun as possible. We love the Wellsboro area and everything it has to offer and will help you find anything you need, from biking, hiking and fishing to festivals and jamborees to local wines, shops, and eateries.

A little bit about us....Simon was born and raised here in Wellsboro and I have lived off and on in the area for over 30 years. We have traveled and lived abroad even as far away as Australia, but the draw of beautiful Wellsboro has brought us back to raise our children near our own parents here in Wellsboro. We own the Grand Canyon Veterinary Hospital and nearby surgery center and we both have a love of our dogs, cats, reindeer, chickens & Muscovy ducks.

A little bit about this home....our gorgeous bed and breakfast home is an early 1800's Gothic Revival house. This house originally stood next to the present day courthouse and was used as the commissioner's office and jury room while the courthouse was being built (1835). When the courthouse was finished, the home was sold to Josiah Emery for $100 and moved to the lot on Central Avenue and Pearl Street where the "Bird House" presently stands. The Emery's lived there as their primary residence for 35 years. After Emery's death, the house was purchased and lived in by Jefferson Harrison (brother of Leonard Harrison, for which the state park is name), until his death in 1903. The house was then moved to its current location.

This beautiful mid 1800's Gothic Revival home has been completely renovated to include a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom bed and breakfast on the second and third floor. The continental grab-and-go style breakfast allows to you to wake up and start your day with shopping local, hiking the rails to trails, sight seeing at the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, or visiting all of the local festivals the area has to offer.  The classic architecture is combined with modern amenities of high speed internet, Roku TV, and Keurig coffee.  Continental breakfast includes a variety of coffees and creamers, herbal teas, Kind bars, granola bars, power bars, oatmeal, pop tarts, fruit, and bottled water.  We will also provide you with a guide to local attractions, hikes and trails and eateries!
